The city has launched a large-scale program for the rehabilitation, but so far, however, the district has managed to preserve its village-like charm and the atmosphere of the colorful weekly markets,
the Norman cheese shops, the Breton fish-sellers and the Provençal
vegetable dealers, with the addition of the exotic shops and
restaurants, the little theaters, the dance halls and the artists'
studios.
Street market on Tuesdays and Fridays. A swimming Pool located on the Oberkamph street.
The Edith Piaf museum is located on the same street as the apartment.
This
privately run museum is filled with Piaf memorabilia such as photos,
costumes, and personal possessions. Her songs, like "La Vie en Rose"
and "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien," eventually were heard around the world.
Very close also, the famous Pere Lachaise cemetary.
