Note: The Double bed in the bedroom has a vertical sliding system which allows to store the bed when you don't need it (in ceiling position) - and have more space to spread out ! This system is easy to use - Effortlessly - and safe.

LOCATION
This neighborhood remains quite central and with all the shopping, bars, cafes and services you need.
Boulevard Magenta is a very busy area but as you head east you approach the up and coming area of the Canal St Martin. The canal has become popular with a trendy crowd and is pedestrianised on weekends offering a relaxed atmosphere in which to stroll, enjoy the quirky cafes or browse the small boutiques.
To the south you head to the bustling Place de la Republique with its restaurants, bars and cafés...
and easy access to the Marais - even by foot (15 mn)
and to the rest of the city (More than 10 subway lines in Republique Station).
Republique
Central square in Paris, Place de la Republique has in it’s centre the colossal Monument de la Republique surrounded in statues representing Freedom, Equality and Fraternity, the french national values. Enjoy the bustling Place de la Republique with its restaurants, bars and cafés.
Crossing the square, you will find the Saint Martin Canal along which Parisians like to stroll or just hang out. Enjoy this haven of peace in the centre of Paris, in the sun, on the waterside.
Marais
The Marais area is just 15 minutes on foot from the apartment. This historic district of central Paris has been know as the Marais since Roman times.
The two great train stations in Paris are here, the Gare de l'Est and the Gare du Nord.

We stayed in this wonderful apartment in July of 2009. We are a family of 4 and my two kids aged 8 and 10 at the time wanted to stay longer. The layout of the apt is amazing and so well thought out. The personal touches made us feel so welcome.

Julie from Los Angeles visited 19-29 December 2010. The apartment has every convenience, is centrally located, and the price is extremely nice. Bonus points: electric towel warmer to dry the bath towels, QWERTY keyboard connected to the in-desk computer for us English speakers, and it's very quiet on the sixth floor. Take the stairs, it's good exercise. Convenient to 2 mini-markets, Ed and Franprix. Thank you, Philippe!
Hello - My husband and I just returned from a week in Paris. We stayed in the Magenta apartment and could not have been happier. The apartment was perfect! It had all the amenities we could have wanted, the location was very central and it was very easy to get around Paris. I have a couple of friends that are thinking of trips to Paris in the near future and I will definately recommend this apartment as the perfect place to stay.

We come from Greece and we stayed for a week at the wonderful studio Magenta at Easter time 2009...and we loved it!!We would definetely recommend it for both a family and a couple..if they look for a beautiful and practical studio (there is everything from household utensils to cd player and access to internet and books) close to a metro stop and many shops, cafe's and restaurants. Not to mention the so cute, helpful and hospitable landlord Philippe.

My then girlfriend and I stayed in this beautifully arranged Republique apartment in July 2008. It is in a great location and the lift is very convenient. We dream about going back to our "first" apartment in Paris. Highly recommend this apartment, without hesitation. (BTW: We got engaged in Paris!)
My friends who have been to Paris, didn't know you could find an apartment to rent with a washer, dryer, kitchen, internet, and three seperate beds for less than a hotel. If we ever get back to Paris we hope Magenta will be available, it was wonderful. We all slept very well, the apartment was in great working order and clean. It was exactly what the online ad had pictured and promised. Phillip was very pleasant and kind to work with.
The metro and bus stop were within view from the apartment window and just like they say, steps from the building's main door. We found the metro easier to understand. I would study the bus system online beforehand if we ever get to return. It was fun to see a Parisian neighborhood that was not in the tourist zone. As an American I can say the Parisians were very kind and helpful to us. The only reason someone may not have helped us, was because they did not speak English, and we don't speak French. It was a great part of our August 2008 trip.

I spent a week in this apartment during the summer (2004). The apartment has been renovated and is full of gadgets that make your stay very enjoyable. It was very clean and is very charming. En ayant marre des hôtels parisiens, j'ai décidé de louer un appart à Paris pour un court séjour et j'ai choisi l'appartement Magenta. Finalement c'était une très bonne décision. L'appartement est propre, il est près de la station du Métro et il y a tout ce qu'il faut. J'ai également beaucoup apprécié le chaleureux acceuil de la famille Ricard. J'y retournerai volontiers lors de mes prochains déplacements à Paris.

My two sisters and I stayed at this apartment and loved it(june 2005). It's amazing all the beds and appliances that can be fit into such a small place so comfortably. Very cool. We went from staying in hostels and overnight trains around Europe to being spoiled by all the amenities of home while in Paris. And the cost was comparable, we couldn't believe it! Rent this place if you go to Paris. The metro is so close, the train station too. This flat made our stay in Paris so relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you M.Ricard!

The apartment is exactly as is represented on the website (maybe even better). It is very comfortable for two and could easily accommodate 2 adults and 2 children; it is very well furnished with lots of storage and every convenience you could want. Dominique & Philippe are gracious and kind people with a great deal of flexibility. The apartment is also convenient to the Metro, Gare du Nord and Est and therefore, convenient to all of Paris and the airport. Everything you need is within two blocks: bistros, bakeries, ATMs, grocery stores as well as a fresh market. I will definitely stay here again.

My cousin and I spent 11 days in this lovely little apartment. It is absolutely perfect for the tourist on the go. It's clean, modern, fully equipped with everything one would need while on vacation and close to a metro stop (line 5), markets, bakeries and brasseries. Philippe was a wonderful host. I went to paris with my family (my husband, a son and a daughter) ten days ago, in the middle of october. we rented a ricard's apartment, in boulevard magenta. We had a very good impression: mr and mrs ricard are kindly, hospitable, and they gave us useful informations for a better way of life in paris and in the neighbourhood. the apartment is perfect: clean, restructured, full of many useful accessories. it is little, perfect for two people, but also if you are more (three or four people), you can live there comfortably and pleasantly, especially if you live like a tourist. In the street, just near the main door, there are the metro-stop and the bus-stop. round the corner you find a little supermarket, the brasserie, a pizzeria, some good restaurant. we will come back!
