LOCATION
"Amelie" movie fans will instantly recognize the hill, where she returns the lost photo album.
Rue Muller stands directly in front of the famous Utrillo street stairs. It is located above a typical cafe of the Butte Montmartre. Montmartre has the feel of a small village within the city, a relaxed atmosphere, overflows with cafes, restaurants, and several open markets... Not to be missed !
Four minutes walk from the famous Sacred Heart Basilica (Le Sacre Coeur) and the charming Place du Tertre; the historical place where numerous painters and caricaturists gather everyday to make their living.
Shops, restaurants, bars and cafes give this neighbourhood a very rare atmosphere. You will also get to admire Paris from here - with one of the best panaramas.
The studio has just been renovated - and offers comfort, daylight, safety and above all silence.
A small nest in the heart of Montmartre !

Our return to Rue Muller on the first week of September didn't disappoint. We got a warm welcome from Catherine who reminded us of the best places to buy food for 'dining in' and the best restaurants and their location on the map when eating out. The apartment isn't big but has it's own charm and has very convenient metro links to the main places of interest. A short stroll takes you to the Sacre Coeur with that wonderful view, to lively shops, cafes and restaurants and you feel part of all that is Montmartre or, in contrast, you can sit peacefully at the open window of the apartment and see and hear the birds in the fig tree outside and feel that you own for a while a little bit of old Paris. There are plenty more manicured more expensive flats around but we prefer a place with some character. Sisters Moyra and Sheena Scotland.
Dear Catherine,
I take this opportunity to thank you for your hospitality. We stayed in June and July in Catherine's appartment and I have to say it is typically French - it is cosy and stylish, only a very short distance from so many wonderful places in Montmartre. Be sure that Catherine will give you lots of useful information about the neighbourhood and Paris on the first day of your stay.
This appartment is the perfect choice for romantic people who want to taste real Paris.

13/6/2011 --- 6/7/2011 My husband and I just spent a week in this apartment. Many times rental apartments lack everyday necessities, not this one. It's very well appointed with everything you might need.
The location is fantastic with local shops for all your needs and affordable restaurants also.
The metro is close by with frequent trains to anywhere in Paris.
The very best is how peaceful and quiet it is with a view onto a lovely wild park like area right outside the huge windows that makes this apartment so great.
As you can tell we enjoyed our week very much.

April 11-18, 2011 Paris at Christmas time could not have been more magical and staying in this flat just added to the charm. It's perfect for three people with all the convinces of home. Close to wonderful specialty shops, metro, wonderful restaurants and all the highlights of Paris.
It's a great value in a wonderful, safe part of Paris.
The owner was extremely hospitable and warm. She greeted us at the flat and had tons of wonderful suggestions. She was available for any questions or concerns.
Staying here truly made us feel like Parisians-if only for a week
My sister and I stayed at no.17 during the first week in September 2010. We found the flat delightful. Decorated in the owner's unique style, it contained everything needed for a comfortable stay for two. Helpful advice by owner Catherine on where to buy and where to eat was invaluable.
Getting around Paris was easy with metros and bus nearby. Being able to cook your own meal with ingredients bought in local shops, to sit at the open window watching the birds in the fig tree below, to have a good restaurant like Le Petit Bleu just a step away and the majestic Sacre Coeur lit up at night practically on the doorstep - well of course we would recommend this as your holiday 'pad'.

My husband, a 5-year-old son and I stayed in this apartment in June 2010. We had a very good time there. Catherine is a wonderful hostess, so helpful and friendly. The place is nice and cozy and has a very optimistic atmosphere. And although in the center of the city, it is unexpectedly quiet. Lots of birds and lots of greenness outside the window. Certainly, it is a place to come back to.

My husband and I had a lovely ten day stay in this studio apartment. The ad on this site correctly shows how the apartment feels. Small, quiet, simple, sunny are all correct. We enjoyed it.
We had no problems with our delightful stay. Our only criticism would be that the apt. desperately needs to have the window woodwork redone. The paint is chipping off. Those large French windows are wonderful and would be well worth the effort to fix.
Best to you, Catherine, from Arthur and Lindy in New Jersey. 6/09
******** Reply from the OWNER:
Sorry for the inconvenience. The studio has been fully booked for the past months but the windows painting is already scheduled for August 2009. ********

Catherine took the time to show us how everything worked in her apartment, and then showed us on a map where the best greengrocer, baker and butcher were and the nearest supermarket. She recommended various restaurants too, and even left us a bottle of wine.
The flat was comfortable and a very quiet and pleasant place to come home to. We found DVDs and books as well as board games, and there was internet access. We enjoyed cooking for ourselves and found everything we needed in the kitchen. We liked being so close to Sacre Coeur and it was easy to get into the centre of town on the metro. We would recommend the flat!
Catherine,
I just want to thank you for your hospitality during our brief stay at your apartment. We found your apartment pleasantly furnished, so that staying there felt very comfortable. You've done a nice job with it. We appreciate your flexibility in lowering the security deposit. Your arranging a taxi to the station for us was considerate and very helpful! And the welcoming bottle of wine was a special treat! We have pleasant memories of our stay at your apartment.

Catherine,
We found your apartment charming and the location fantastic. We greatly appreciate the help you gave us during our short stay. Your kindness made a real difference for us. 31 October 08.

There are lots of restaurants and cafes near by. Be sure to try le Petit Blue for some good, inexpensive food. The place is quite small, and I'm not sure three people would fit- unless you are very "close". We visited in the winter and found the apartment a bit cold and damp. I would love to visit in the Spring or Summer when the garden is in bloom. The kitchen is fully stocked and more than adequate for preparing simple meals. Enjoy your stay! Perfect Location! Easy access to good food, good shopping, and Metro to anywhere in the city. Your host is gracious and most helpful. Montmartre is the only place to stay in Paris. You will never want to leave! July 2007 Dear Catherine, We had wonderful days in Paris. We and our children liked your nice flat because it is very calm and well located to the metro and the Sacre Coeur. If our friends want to go to Paris too, we will give them your address. Thank you very much! Best regards. Carola, Hermann, Irena L'appartement est très joli! Stefan

Dear Catherine, Well as I said on the first day, your flat is gorgeous, and three months later we think exactly the same _ just gorgeous (OK 'formidable')! We cannot believe we found a flat in Paris with such a wonderful outlook _ so full of sun and light and so quiet - overlooking gardens of trees, birds, roses, geraniums, hollyhocks, figs and even a wattle for we Australians.(our national flower!) It was like living in Provence, yet outside the door we had everything we wanted _ sensational supermarkets, market, butcher, fruit shop, laundry, internet and easy transport to all the sights of this most beautiful city. It has been such a pleasure to get to know you and your friends and it made it so much more special. As you know we want to come back. Please give my email address to anyone who would like to know more. So merci beaucoup again Catherine _ we will miss you and 'our' Paris home. Joan and Gus Edison, Collaroy Plateau, Sydney, Australia
