Basically, this apartment was fantastic...it's very spacious and beautifully appointed and very comfortable...the fact that the owner is an artist made for a stay that was the only way to be in Le Marais...one of the best districts to be in in Paris..the apartment is so relaxing that you felt like staying in longer than you would normally in a hotel...we read and made coffee in the morning and it felt like being at home...except you're in Paris and steps away from great cafes and shopping areas...Frederique was very helpful in giving us tips on what museums and galleries to visit in the area (and there are many)...the staircase to the upper loft bedroom was designed by an artist and is unique...we liked this place so much that the next time we return we will stay here most definitely....

What better way to experience la vie boheme...than from the comfort of this delightful apartment! Located on the bustling main thoroughfare of the Marais just a few blocks from the Bastille, you duck off the sidewalk into a quiet classic Paris building. At the top of the time-worn flight of stairs, Frederique's apartment opens up to fairytale views of the city skyline from Sacre Coeur to the spires of Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower. With exposed beams and skylights, dormer windows and an ingenious open wrought-iron staircase leading to the loft, the place itself is bright, spacious and gracious. Despite its open plan, there are plenty of private spaces to curl up in to read and write, talk and dream, eat and love. The appointments are stylish and functional, so staying in for the evening or morning is an attractive idea.
Our family (couple and teenage daughter) spent 5 too-short days here and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Not only because we were in Paris, but because Frederique's apartment made us feel that we had a home in Paris!

April 2010 - Just spent our holiday time in Paris at Frederique's uber - sexy apartment. Shame we couldn't have had more chance to just sit around and soak up the remarkable and unique ambience of the place but it is Paris after all. There's so much to see and do and this is a perfect base. The street is basically cafe, boutique, restaurant, patisserie, wine shop, cafe, restaurant, chocolate shop, boutique etc., etc. Hop On, Hop Off sightseeing bus stops on the street, metro station is at the corner and a beautiful 20 minute straight shot up the road (if you don't stop to shop or eat) will see you at the Louvre. We were 2 adults and 2 kids but the apartment would also be great for a group of five.
Simply put, ideal.

Just home from spending 5 wonderful days in Paris.....and having the use of an apt. with character and beauty added to the experience. The internet can be a scary place to trust people and I can let you know that you can trust Frederique and her apt.
We were 3 adults using the space and found it to be more then enough room to have elbow room and yet it was cozy enough that we weren't lost in the space. After searching for a place for a while we were so happy to have found this place.....super convenient to everything and anything and everything you could need a few steps away.
The views from the penthouse apt were beautiful.....the rooms were comfortable and it was nice to have a fridge and stove to keep snacks and cook a couple of meals. Frederique had pamphlets and Paris information in the apt to use....
We came not knowing what to expect and left extremely happy that we chose this place to spend our 2008 xmas......tres bien and merci Frederique.....feel free to pass my email address to anyone considering using your beautiful Parisian apt.

Thank you again for the use of your apartment. And I'm glad to hear you thought we took good care of it; we certainly appreciated its value! Not the least of which was its gracious and witty owner! Now you really must come see us. Yes, it's sunny and warm in L.A. Still, Paris is the most beautiful city in the world, and it is hard to think of it as anything else. Personally, Phillip and I have always found the city to be extremely friendly, and Parisians themselves to be the most sophisticated, cultured and intelligent citizens of any major metropolitan area. And I'm glad to have given you back your apartment hopefully in as good condition as we found it. Sincerely, James Duff
