My sister and I stayed at this lovely apartment for a month in September 2012; I loved it so much I came back for a week in late October!
We loved the neighbourhood and the fact the apartment is so close to all the attractions and the shopping at St Lazare!!
The apartment is so cosy and clean, and we felt very safe. The neighbours are very quiet; which is a real bonus!
Thanks for David making our stay so effortless!!
We will be back...one day!!

We stayed in David and Elisa's apartment for 11 days in June 2012. It is a sweet apartment in a great neighborhood. The entry through a courtyard made it feel very safe. The stairs to the flat were easy to climb although they took some getting used to for two older Americans. Good exercise.
We loved the neighborhood and could have spent all our time exploring it if it wasn't that all of Paris was just a Metro or bus ride away. There are countless restaurants within a short walk and shops for anything that one could need or want. A delightful park is just a block away.
David and Elisa's detailed information about the flat and maps of the neighborhood gave us everything we needed to access the flat and get around. They were the perfect hosts, helpful and non-intrusive.
It was wonderful to see the Paris outside the tourist zone.

I think it is a typical Parisian cosy apartment with all you need during your stay in Paris. Location is quite nice, some stations by metro to all attractions but can walk easily to Montmartre in 30 minutes. Surroundings are also typical Parisian, excellent market where can get all you need for breakfast, nice restaurant at the corner with very nice food. Finding the apartment was very easy thanks for David's description sent by mail. We stayed 3 adults in the apartment but did not find it small or unspacious. Enterieur is cosy and perfect, tv, radio, dvd, hifi, wifi, computer, towels, bedsheets, kitchen with all what you need. Met some friendly neighbours as well. There was construction during our stay but did not disturb too much and this can happen everywhere. On arrival day David came to us saying hello and was showing around. We really had excellent experience during our stay and were very satisfied with the services of the apartment. Only one very little thing was not perfect - the wifi - as sometimes no sign or no power or very slow - but this has nothing to do with the quality of our accommodation. I truly recommend this apartment for 2-3 pax who plan traveling to Paris and wants to find good accommodation on very good price. Dear Elisa and David,
We felt comfortable in your apartment. It is decorated with good taste, very clean and cozy. We liked the inner yard and the fact that it is a very quite place.
The location is excellent, both in terms of transportation means, parks, market, shops and restaurant.
We enjoyed very much the morning walks with our 3 1/2 year daughter in the Batignolles gardens. We were getting fresh fruits and vegetables from the market and late in the evening when coming back hope, we were stopping in different restaurants around the area.
We are thinking to come back soon and we are recommending your place to all our friends planning to visit Paris.
Thanks for your hospitality,

16-26 April 2011 Dear David & Elisa,
thank you for a wonderful stay in your cosy apartment. We spent a lovely 5 nights here and really enjoyed every moment. The apartment was warm and comfortable and had everything we needed. It was also close to shops and the Metro, as well as near a beautiful park which was a perfect place to spend the late afternoons with our 11 month old baby.
Thank you also for providing the baby cot, and for being so welcoming and friendly on arrival. It was a great stay and we will definitely return when we next visit Paris!

2nd - 7th March, 2011 David and Elisa,
Thank you for a wonderful stay in your apartment. It was warm and toasty giving it being December when I stayed and it was freezing outside. I look forward to someday coming back to Paris and staying again. Thanks again for the easy check-in and check-out :)
Sincerely,
Angie (USA, Dec 30-Jan 4, 2011)
This sweet little apartment could not have been more perfect for me--a comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood, especially at the end of a long work day. Ideal size for a single person or a traveling couple. Great proximity to the metro and the main thoroughfare of shops. I have already told all my friends about this place, should they ever be traveling to Paris. And my sincere thanks to David--he's wonderful.

Dear Elisa & David,
We really enjoyed staying at your flat in our trip to Paris! Thank you for your welcoming gift and the gracious hospitality offered on our arrival day!
Here's a synopsis of our experience in Paris. Coming back home to the flat after a long day of exploring definitely beats a hotel room anyday! The size was perfect for two - easy to maintain; comes equipped with all the cleaning tools and a fully functional kitchen was a blessing for home cooked meals and enjoying a glass of wine with fresh baguettes. What we loved the most about your flat was the location and neighbourhood. It is centrally located - close to shopping (seconds from the organic market with all the fresh fruits and vegetables), G20, and other grocery chains on Ave de Clichy. The neighbourhood itself is authentic Parisien, and situated next to a beautiful small park perfect for a lazy afternoon or just relaxing after a long day of walking. Whether it was walking to Monmartre or Monpartnasse, for us nothing was too far away from your flat. We only took the Metro (located 2 mins from the flat) once on the day we were leaving... super convenient access to the airport via subway & train.
We have been telling all of our friends & family about your flat since we got back!We look forward to our next opportunity to visit Paris and staying at your beautiful flat!!!
Best regards,

Dates stayed: Sept 13-27
We stayed in the Truffaut apartment for eleven days in August. We had been to Paris previously, but never stayed in an apartment before, so were very cautious in our initial inquiries. However, David & Elisa were very assuring and provided all the information we required - and more! We chose the Truffaut apartment to be in a quieter area that was still only a few Metro stops from the centre of Paris.
On our arrival, all of the special arrangements clicked into place perfectly. We found the flat to be great value, having all of the necessities we required for our stay. The bed was super-comfortable. The kitchen was small and narrow, but well furnished : we managed to cook the odd three-course meal when spending the evening 'at home'.
Rue Truffaut through to Ave Clichy and all of the neighbouring streets contained several supermarkets, a farmers' market, boulangerie (we recommend La Fournee in Rue Brochant) and brasseries. We were easily able to go into the city via the nearby Pont Cardinet train station.
We used the ticket office in this station to also book a train trip to to Monet's garden at Geverny (via Vernon Station).
We love Paris, and this apartment certainly helped make this our best visit, ever. We shall return.

The Rue Truffaut apartment was in a fantastic location close to the metro, markets, cafes, and parks. The apartment itself was well furnished and clean. David and Elisa were very helpful and we had no trouble finding the apartment. Highly recommended.

We have just came back to Dallas, TX, USA from Paris and this flat was the best thing ever! It is clean, cute and friendly, it was awesome to come back to it every night after a long viewing of the city. It is quiet and everything was as promised. We loved having Internet and phone, not to mention the lot of TV channels. The kitchen and bathroom are nice and modern, we found everything we needed there. I would definitely come back again and I recommend this apartment to anybody. Thanks David and Elisa, we had a great time and we loved your place!

We spent an awesome time in this spacious yet affordable appartment in Paris! A perfect spot for our family of 4, with 2 small children (3y and 6y). L'appartement est bien tenu, super agréable et très bien situé à quelques pas du métro. On trouve tout ce qu'il faut dans ce quartier, de la brasserie sympathique à la bonne boutique de vin. Un immense et chaleureux merci du Québec!
Thanks for making our stay so easy!

Visited Paris in August 2009. Our apartment on Truffaut in the 17th arrondisement was absolutely great! The owners are very easy to communicate with and very kind. The apt was well represented on the photos and very comfortable, we had been on the road a week before we arrived in Paris and washing machine was very well appreciated along with the computer. The neighbourhood is really great, very quiet street and everyone is really friendly. It was really nice to come back to this neighbourhood at night. When we come back to Paris i would definetly stay here again!!! Thank you for a wonderful Parisian experience.

I rented the flat at Rue Truffaut in the Fall of 2007 while I was in Paris for a writing workshop. It was wonderful! Very well situated, close to grocery and shopping, and La FEMIS. It was just as it appeared in the photos...very charming and comfortable with a great bathroom. The owners, Elisa and David, were very accommodating...they let me rent the flat out for an extra night when I missed my flight back to NY...life-savers! I would definitely rent this flat again.

Had a lovely stay in your apartment at the end of January begining of February 2009. Lots of bakers, butchers, markets etc. really got a feel of the true Paris. Thank you very much for all the very helpful information regarding travel etc. made getting in and out of central Paris very easy and enjoyable. I would have no hesitation in recommending your apartment to anyone wanting a quiet place to stay whilst being a matter of minutes away from all the big tourist attractions.
Thanks again,

Just stayed at the apartment in Dec 2008, had a great time. Was easy to find and the neighborhood was lovely. Markets, stores, etc where all within walking distance. Apartment was clean and quiet - a perfect retreat from busy days of sightseeing. David was a great help and available if we needed him for any assistance. Was nice to see true Parisian neighborhood and away from the touristy areas. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Paris, thanks again David and Elisa

My children & I stayed for 4 nights here & really enjoyed it. Once we figured out the Metro (transit system) it became easier to get around, but the people there were very helpful. It is in a cute area of town with some nice restaurants around in walking distance.
It was nice to be able to come back to the flat & relax with a glass of wine at the end of a busy day of walking around Paris.
Thank you for your hospitality.

The neighbourhood was great. We loved to go to the market or the bakery. People where so friendly. We both loved Paris and this was not our last visit to this great city - now my daughter would like to move to Paris sometime in the future ( when she get older ).

We recently enjoyed a wonderful two weeks at David and Elisa's Rue Truffaut apartment.
The apartment is small but quite comfortable and since the kitchen is well equipped we enjoyed making some our meals instead of eating out in restaurants all the time.
The 17th is an interesting and cosmopolitan area with a good choice shops closeby and the Metro stop Brochant is only a short walk from the apartment.
We will be back.
Many thanks to David and Elisa for helping us enjoy our stay in Paris.

What a great week! We really enjoyed coming "home" to such a cozy environment after a hectic day sightseeing. Your apartment is in a perfect neighborhood location----away the the typical tourist hubbub. We enjoyed going to both little bakeries in the neighborhood as well as the little "7-11" type convenience store every day. You spared no expense in outfitting the appt. and it shows. Would come back in a heartbeat!!

I have been to Paris many times before but this was the first trip where I had my own apartment. Your Rue Truffaut property was fantastic! The attention to detail from the pre-trip information package complete with directions, to the varied selection of CDs and books were nice touches. The apartment was clean, quiet, and close to a beautiful park, with wonderful epiceries on Rue des Moines. I especially appreciated the computer with internet access which saved me from bringing my laptop.
Thank-you for providing a wonderful place to stay in Paris.

The apartment was great! It was wonderful to live in an actual neighbourhood in Paris with the locals eating in the same restaurants and going to the market and the bakery. Having a separate bedroom is nice if someone needs a nap to recover from all the walking and someone else wants to go on the computer. There is lots of space for your stuff and everything you need in the kitchen. The metro is very close. Everyone in the building is friendly including the resident cats and dogs. If you would like more information please ask Elisa and David for our email.

David & Elisa were extremely accommodating. What you see truly is what you get and more. This is a quaint, nicely decorated, very clean apartment close to the main Parisian streets. We were minutes away from great restaurants, tourist attractions and places to shop. Prior to arriving, we were emailed a packet of information, which included directions from several airports, maps of markets, attractions, happening clubs, etc. They anticipated our every need...your very own concierge service. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others!

I would definitely recommend this small but cozy apartment to anyone who is looking for a nice place to stay in Paris at a fair price. The place is decorated with taste and you will find anything you need for a holiday without worries. We were 2 couples and had no complaints. The owners are really nice people, you will like them instantly. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet and it's not too far from city center either.
Thank you David & Elisa. We hope to come back soon. :)

We stayed in this beautiful apartment for the first week of August (07) and had a fantastic week!
The apartment is in the heart of a typically Parisien neighbourhood, and if you want to escape the tourist throngs, this is definitely the place to be. With a great covered market, excellent cafe-bistros and everything else you'll need on your doorstep, it's great to hear French all around you, and experience the real Paris, rather than the packaged tourist variety. (That said, my French is terrible and that didn't stop me getting by as the locals were really friendly)
The apartment itself is immaculately presented and very stylish, but still really comfortable. It was nice to have all mod cons to hand, but still be within a stone's throw of the metro and local train station (with quick connection to St Lazarre, which is a great launch pad for the central sites).
All in all I can't praise it enough, and would recommend the experience to anyone looking to explore Paris with a little independence, and the urge to get in and out of the sight seeing spots without being overwhelmed by tourists and those who prey on them ;-)
Thanks,

My husband and I, who are in our late 20s, stayed in Elisa and David's apt late June, 2007, and found it to be just to our needs. The apartment has just been refurbished and is furnished very comfortably, with much attention to detail. It is quite large and the pictures on this website really don't do it justice! We really felt at home there - they provided everything we needed, and to a high standard. The internet access also proved very very helpful indeed, as guidebooks only tell so much...
The neighbourhood is really great! So close to the metro, an amazing local marketplace, and lots of very authentic shops and specialty foodstores (patisseries, boulangeries, fruit and vegetable shops, butchers, etc etc etc - we were in heaven!). Really, we wished we could stay a week just so we could try just a little of what the shopkeepers had to offer. There are also many restuarants in the area, including the one just on the corner next to the apt, La Bonne Heure, which was fantastic. We tried a couple of other restaurants in the area, and found them to be both very affordable and of very high quality, which is in contrast to much of what can be found in more central areas, and in our opinion, much more preferable. It's a very authentic, locals' area, felt very safe, with easy access to the metro at less than 5 minutes' walk, and with a park adjacent. Very quiet, too, as the bedroom is on the back of the apt block, facing away from any street noise.
In all, we would wholeheartedly recommend staying at Rue Truffaut!
Thank you, Elisa and David, for such a wonderful stay!

Very good experience overall. Nice area with good restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance. Recommend a stop at the West bar for you Wild Wild West fans.Only negative would a complicated train access to Roissy; multi changes. That said the interior was impeccable and I would come again.

Hi Elisa/David/Lilou,
My 3 friends and I loved our stay in your apartment. The location was truly Parisian, we got up every morning and got our breads and pastries from the many local boulangeries and patisseries...The markets, restaurants and brasseries were conveniently close by. We loved the apartment, everything we could need was there. We were also close to the metro and within walking distance to Sacre Coeur and Place de Clichy, the park nearby was so beautiful. The neighborhood was simply lovely, people were nice and welcoming...On that note, there is a new bar/restaurant being built on Rue Brochant (walking towards metro), the gentlemen building the bar were so friendly and I meant to go and say hi but didn't get the chance, please do pass on a "hello from Los Angeles & best of luck for the bar" if you can :-).
You guys were so helpful during our vacation, thank you for all the wonderful memories you helped us form there. Lilou was magnifique!
We will definitely come back soon!

We stayed in the apt during Easter 2007 vacation. It was a very pleasant experience. The apt has been refurbished, in good taste indeed, and looks "brand new". It is very peaceful (something we appreciated a lot) and has everything one needs for a relaxing holiday (a couple of extra kitchen pots would be welcome Elisa!). The owners were friendly, polite and accommodating. They also were very helpful, when we missed our flight back home and we needed to stay on for an extra night! We felt that the metro station and the market are very conveniently located, too. Elisa & David, thank you! Best regards from Greece!
